Samuel Pepys, the great chronicler of London during the remarkable and turbulent 1660’s in which England returned to being a monarchy under Charles II before suffering plague, fire and war with the Dutch.
Pepys was undoubtedly a man of almost limitless energy. He managed to be a Naval reformer, the president of the Royal Society during the time that Newton published his Principia Mathematica, a serious player on the national stage, an MP and a prisoner of The Tower of London.
With Tim, we will walk on Samuel’s steps , we will even take a boat to Greenwich and walk back along the Thames to the great Greenland dock.
